Project Overview
For this Project I wanted to keep the design of the site simple and open because I wanted the art to shine on the site. I used a lot of the knowledge I gained from working with a design team in the 5 years I worked at a marketing agency. The first thing I did was figure out what colors I wanted to use for the project. I wanted the site to be colorful and inviting, but not so colorful that it took away from the main subject which is art. Once I figured out the colors I wanted to work with I made a style guide to figure out what colors would be used for different elements of the site like headers and buttons. After that I worked on the homepage to figure out the different sections of the homepage and to figure out what repeating elements I’d have like the header, footer and the call to actions right before the footer.
I’ve also created business cards and a table runner to match for when I table at events to sale my work. I used a drawing I really like as the logo to represent my work and kept the colors and font choice very simple.
