Homepage and Templating
As with every build I’ve worked on I started with Homepage and established overarching styles for the site. I picked up this build so I finished the homepage and moved to the interior pages. Which included the community pages.
Before I could build out the separate community pages I had to get the IDX set up which would pull listings from the different areas listed. It was my first time working with an IDX but I’m always up for a challenge so I really enjoyed figuring out the limits of the IDX, while also working with the design team to tweak some of the design choices based on the limitation of the IDX’s output.
After getting all the Idx limitations figured out I built out the first community page and showed the clients VA how to continue the creation of the other pages, which is the same method I used for the blog posts as well.
Our Team Custom Post Type
The client wanted to add an our team page that also linked to individual team member pages that gave more information on each person. I felt the best way to achieve this was with a custom post type and advanced custom fields for things like linking an email and adding their broker number to each member if applicable.
